Frequently Asked Questions

If these don’t answer your questions, please email us at info@harlemrivercr.org.

Q: What kind of rowing do you offer?

A: During Summer 2017, we offer Introduction to Rowing sessions on a training barge. We currently do not offer rowing in racing shells.

Q: Where do you row and how do I get there?

A: We row from the Columbia Boathouse Dock, near Inwood Hill Park. It’s across the corner of West 218th Street and Indian Road.  (Map).

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Our Inwood program is FREE! With thanks to Partnerships for Parks and Inwood Parks Grant, and to Columbia University.

Q: I thought you rowed out of Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx – what happened?

A: We were asked to leave in 2016, in order to make room for renovation of the park and the development of a multi-million dollar baseball academy.

Q: So what does the future look like?

A: We are hoping to find a new home. We are the only club in New York to offer affordable rowing for all, and we are committed to bringing rowing back to New Yorkers.
